Richard, you are clever. That sleep during the trial may have been the last good sleep members of the jury have had, considering what they have to live with.

If you would take a few moments and read Erickson’s words you will find he had very little to drink.

Erickson testified he had some cocaine at a party which ended around 10:30pm when the police arrived. At the time the murder occurred any affects of cocaine would have long since vanished due to the time factor.

Many people do not believe Chuck took any cocaine at that time of his life he... was just 17 years old by a couple of months.

Remember, the crime occurred between 2:15am and 2:24am.
The last person to speak with the victim was Michael Boyd a co-worker and friend. Boyd stated in police report 18 and 25 that he entered the parking lot 2:10am, spoke with the victim for 3-5 minutes and departed the parking lot at 2:20am.

Remember, 911 was called at 2:26am.

Erickson testified he had 2-3 drinks at the By George Night Club and was "a little" intoxicated, not drunk... these are Erickson’s own words, his sworn testimony during Ryan’s trial.

The reason Erickson plead guilty (at the urging of his parents) was to get a better deal.

Look at the pressure Erickson"s father put on Chuck…..
And this is before Mr. Erickson had spoken to Chuck’s Attorney Mark Kempton.

Page 789 Ln 22
Page 790 Ln 18
Page 792 Ln 19

Mr. Erickson panicked and urged his son to plea against Ryan for less time and the fear that Ryan could plea against Chuck. No other reason not... as Certain stated, “conscience, courage or integrity, or the combination thereof, after the fog of his intoxication ended.”

The Erickson’s were looking for the least painless way out of a very bad situation.

THEY PANICKED...
And put pressure on Chuck to plea!!!

Please read for yourself... its in the trial transcript and here are the page numbers. Take a few minutes and read the facts.

I honestly don"t know how I came across this story but ever since I did I"ve been transfixed on your son"s case. Anyways, I noticed how you suggested supporters to contact Oprah or Montel but have you tried Nancy Grace or MSNBC? I"ve noticed MSNBC airs many stories pertaining to the law and such.

Betty, the jury was asleep when the trial started and they only woke up after they gave the verdict.

I don"t know any of the members of the jury, but I expect at least some of them ARE having trouble with their verdict and having second thoughts. Judging someone else"s life is difficult and doing it when there is not conclusive evidence must be a nightmare. There probably are some whose sleep is not good and who wish they had never been on that jury.

I just received the 48 hours video that Mr Ferguson had sent me. I wastched it last night, and I was so mad that the jury was more in favor of Chuck"s testimony. How could those people slepp at night knowing that they put an innocent person in prison. I want to thank the Ferguson family for sending me the video.

I just watched a tivo-ed 48 hours about Ryan. I think that forensics is such a huge part of proving someone guilty that the lack forensics should prove someone innocent as well. A child could look at that crime scene and know that the real killer would have been covered with blood. Again forensics fits in here too...not a single drop of blood was found in Ryans car. Nothing! I also immidiately caught on to the fact that the bar was closed when Ryan supposively went back and stayed yet 1 1/2 hours more. Chuck being under 21 and all wouldn"t know about the 1:30 call time thus proving he"s an out right liar. I was also hurt that everone was judging Ryan for his "lack of emotion". Everyone who ever faces a tradegy automatically goes into shock and becomes numb as it"s too much to handle if you dont shutdown. After my husband died in a sudden tragic car accident I was emotionally numb for over two years. Chuck is obviously a very mentally sick person. The police should have focused there investigation on the dogs nose not a childs dream! Shame on them. Ryan & Family...you are in my prayers. I know its tough but there is a reason for everything. God has a plan for him,one day we will know what it is. Just Hang on & stay close to God!

To Jana Lalewicz:

I was reading through one of your notes and you stated: "I wonder how that prosecutor sleeps at night". We"ve all thought that . . . now he"s a judge.

What makes this clock tick?

Now I see that the appeal date will be set next month for Ryan. That"s great news. I hope it is not too far in the future. And the Tribune used a good photo too.
