I have seen this show once before and watched it again tonight. I had hoped that there would be a happy update. I am so sorry for what you guys are going through. I don't know how 12 people could convict 2 men based on the information they were given at this trial. Just based on Chucks interview I would have acquitted. Again, I am sorry for what you are going through. I wish you good luck during the appeal.

I just finished watching the 48 hours show and I am mentally processing how this could have happened?! I am a senior at Mizzou & had previously heard briefly of this story but was not fully aware until now all about it. I am so sorry for all that your family and Ryan are having to go through all of this. There are too many holes in the case for this to have happened!! I am currently versing myself with more information on the case and plan on staying up to date. I will be sure to keep all of you in my prayers.

I also watched 48 Hours and the interview with some jurors. One woman juror was grinning and a man said something didn't make sense that a Ph.D. said who had studied memory for quite a few years. I wonder how something would make sense to someone who's never done any reading or knows nothing on the subject. We are not born knowing everything. I believe it's time for the U.S. to copy Holland who's had a justice system much longer than we, and hire professional judges. Their candidates must study for years in order to pass the judge test and become part of a 3-judge panel. I like what I read the judge said to the prosecutor, that it was his job to know the law. I probably would never be chosen by the defense to be on a jury because I worked in the prison system for 23 years and I would be expected to be pro-prosecution. I've seen so much that is unfair and even illegal that prosecutors do to win cases that I've become quite hardened to their plight.

WOW, CRAZY, UNFAIR! Pretty much sums up what I seen watching last nights special. First of all them jurors at least the ones they interviewed, are deranged if you ask me, how do they possibly sleep knowing that they have put a man in jail, weather he is innocent or not, which I believe he is innocent. Can someone ask them to give their definition of proof beyond a reasonable doubt, It's not like a few facts, statements, and evidence dont match up and show ryan as guilty, NONE of them do< I could not see a single solid fact that would show proof beyond a reasonable doubt! I can go on and on but His friend chuck was 110% spoonfed details, and to me showed zero credibility. I have never thought about giving my opinion on any case, but I really thought about this one all nite and morning. And decided to look it up and find this. I'm surprised there is not more posts or replies on here, concerning how unjustifiable it is for ryan ferguson to be in jail.
And as for the sister, I could not imagine how she feels, Its not her fault but I can understand how she says she feels guilty. She seems like a wonderful compasionate perfect sister and to have to think everyday that she shares some guilt must be horrible. And I also feel for his parents they seem like great people but they seem to be staying strong even though they must feel helpless at this point. I really hope this situation turns positive for ryan and his family soon, and them jurors need some evaluation themselves at least realizing, personal feelings and emotion is not grounds to beleive chuck and convict ryan! |
